Lido Key
Lido Key Beach is located between Siesta and Longboat Keys in Florida. North Lido Beach, Lido Beach, and South Lido Park are the three beaches on Lido Key. These three beaches are less busy than others, such as Siesta Key Beach, but they still feature beautiful white sand and plenty of space to explore. They provide more than diversity; they also provide the pure beauty of nature. St. Armand’s Circle, which provides premium shopping and eating, is about 0.25 miles from North Lido Beach. This beach is more remote, and the strong currents make it better for resting than swimming. There are no lifeguards on duty here. North Lido Key Beach Park has been refurbished, with new walking routes and oak and cedar pond trees. A great horned owl and an occasional bald eagle have been observed in the nature area, as well as migratory and coastal birds. The park was bought by the city of Sarasota in 1977 to preserve it as a natural animal habitat. North Lido Key Beach is a large length of sandy beach, so you’ll have plenty of room to choose your private spot, do some seashell collection, or simply relax with a nice book. The gulf waters off Lido Key are a multi-hued azure blue that is extremely clean. Simply stunning. Lido Beach is a public beach with lots of parking (up to 400 vehicles) and services such as toilets, a gift store, a refreshment stand, beach cabana rentals, and even a children’s playground. St. Armand’s Circle is also within walking distance (about half a mile). The Lido Key Public Beach is located towards the midpoint of Lido Key, and there are several beautiful hotels along the beach from there southward, including the Lido Key Resort. It has an outdoor Tiki Hut Bar and a poolside dining patio. I’ve eaten lunch on the terrace, and the view of Lido Key Beach is breathtaking. It’s a nice spot to unwind with a tropical cocktail. Lido Key Public Beach has a lot to offer, including year-round lifeguards, a snack stand, covered picnic tables in a pavilion setting, a children’s playground, and a public swimming pool that you may use for a small cost. South Lido Park is surrounded by four bodies of water: Big Pass, the Gulf of Mexico, Sarasota Bay, and Brushy Bayou. Picnic spots, lifeguards in the summer, volleyball courts, nature paths, bathrooms, playgrounds, and other amenities are available in the park. South Lido Key Beach Park has picnic tables and grills in a beautiful forested setting along the bay, as well as a volleyball sand court, nature pathways, toilets, and a children’s playground. There’s also a beautiful creek nearby where you may go canoeing or kayaking. This region is located on the bayside, where you may paddle through mangroves and mangrove tunnels, as well as on a protected lagoon that is as quiet as Mill Pond.
